More Treatment Hours = More Opportunities
Reasons for a Center-Based Model
Center-based services have been shown to be superior to home-based services for mastery of program targets and rate of mastery (Dixon, Burns, Granpeesheh, Amarasinghe, Powell, & Linstead, 2017). This is because center-based ABA services typically provide more treatment hours per week, thus resulting in more opportunities for clients to engage in learning and a higher rate of mastery across target behaviors.
Treatments are able to remain more consistent since there are fewer last-minute cancellations due to staff emergencies or planned time off. In addition, therapists are able to utilize group activities to build social skills while also having access to therapy rooms to work on individual targets more efficiently.
